Heavy Cream Tip Tuesday

Have you ever looked at a recipe before, really wanting to make it but realizing halfway through you were out of Heavy Cream? After today you will not have that realization again...DIY Heavy Cream is today's very EASY Tip.

The 2 3 ingredients needed are:

3/4 Cup Milk
1/3 Cup Butter
1 Tbsp Flour

Start by melting your butter in a mug in the microwave.

Pour the melted butter in to your measured 3/4 Cup of milk and stir it together.

If you are like us Bears and drink a lower percentage of milk (we drink 1%) then it is best to add in 1 Tbsp of flour to help thicken up your cream up.

That's all she wrote...simple isn't it? You can use this mixture in place of 1 Cup of Heavy Cream in a recipe. The only thing that you have to be aware of; is that this particular substitute will not whip so you cannot use it in a whip cream mode...but it is handy for many other reasons.

Stay tuned for my quiche recipe later this week that uses this Substitute....Happy Tip Tuesday!
