Legs Up The Wall at 8 O'Clock

34
Sorry for being MIA yesterday but we were caught up in CousinBear fun...with preschool science and crafting in the clouds...More to come on that tomorrow...BUT for today I wanted to continue on with my relaxation theme. This particular technique can be done whenever you need to feel the stretch but I find it works best for me after a 20 minute mild work out to warm my body up. I have been doing this in the evening after dinner clean up and before the bedtime routine with BabyBear...while listening to the singing on The Voice or X Factor.

For today's stress relief you will need the following:

A blanket or 2
Comfortable pillows
Clear wall space

Start by laying your pillows right up against the wall....

From there you will need to fold up and lay your blankets so that they are under the pillow but stick out enough to provide support for your back, neck and head....

Now you will need to lay on your side with your bum directly touching the wall....

Carefully turn your body so that your head is resting on the top of the exposed blankets and your legs are now going up the wall....

If you are comfortable with this stretch keep your bum close to the wall...

If the stretch is too much pull your bum a few inches out from the wall, while keeping your legs extended....

You want to make sure that your neck is fully supported and relaxed...Tension is a No-No....

SIDE NOTE: The important things to remember when doing this is that your stomach and pelvis need to be even with each other, your lower ribs and kidneys on the pile of blankets and your head slightly lower than your heart.

Extend your arms out with your palms facing up (I do this on and off throughout my time on the wall)....

Breathe deeply...in and out...in and out....Relax...
When you are ready to come off the wall start by bending your knees....
Roll to your right side and wait a few minutes to recenter your line of gravity and blood pressure...

Sooo relaxing... and once again good for you. Doing this on a regular basis can help with things like calming your mind and nervous system, relieving swelling in legs and feet, resting your heart by reversing the affects of gravity and relieve stresses in your lower back, along with many other ailments we unknowingly face each day.

Now Go Be Brave...and do something healing today.
