Today's Tip will come in handy for upcoming holiday celebrations...
Reusing Crumpled Tissue Paper...
Have you ever had a whack load of tissue paper that all looked like this from having been stuffed in to gift bags?
What do you normally do with it? In the past I have used it for craft material when I was running a preschool group 2 times per week but lately with out those classes most of it ends up in the recycling. Although recycling is better than the garbage it is still putting chemicals back in to our air supply so reuse is definitely the high on my list. But even with reuse there are only so many things you can do to reuse the stacks of tissue paper we accumulate every year with birthdays, Easter, Christmas and more...it can be overwhelming.
So yesterday when I needed to cover a cake board for this wedding cake I had going out I decided to look for a way that was safe enough to flatten the tissue paper and allow me to reuse instead of buying new...
TaDa!
We all have this in our home so it is something that we all can be doing very easily.
Set your iron to a Nylon setting...allow it to warm up...
Lay out your tissue paper on to a blanket on the floor...
Iron until flat...
It doesn't take out the crinkles completely but it definitely takes it back to a usable state...
Cool eh?!
Now Go Be Brave...save a tree today and reuse your tissue paper.
