For this activity according to the book you will need the following items:
12 Cups Water
1 Cup Dish Soap ( I tried Ivory and it didn't work out so well. We then chose the Blue Dawn...perfect)
1 Cup Corn Starch
2 TBSP Baking Powder
Bubble Wand (as seen in the picture below)
When we initially tried out the bubble recipe we found that due to our humidity (at least that was our best guess) they were not holding together as well as we would have liked. Due to that fact I decided I would like to add my own twist to David's recipe that I had heard about years ago to see what the result would be...what a difference.
I am sure you have heard of this ingredient for strong bubbles before...Glycerin...I added about 3tsp of Glycerin to the above original recipe and we had a great time making HUGE bubbles.
BabyBear spent most of the time laughing and giggling as she jumped, chased and popped bubbles over and over again.
POP!!!
It was so much fun that there were many tears when it was time to come inside for bedtime. We will definitely be doing this activity again while the weather is still beautiful. In fact next time I plan to incorporate a kiddie pool and a hula hoop for more insane bubble fun. Stay tuned for those upcoming pictures...
